Mi Problema

The lower top shell broke at the right hinge and the screen was flopping around unsafely. I did NOT need to replace the display. I used this tutorial because it matched the model I was repairing and gave me enough info to make the needed repair.

Mi Solución

Things went very well. The last time I did something like this there was a lot of soldering involved, so having everything plug-and-play was WONDERFUL!

Mi Consejo

In all of the photos that show the IR Board, the board shown is actually installed upside down. The lower shell won't go back on unless you reinstall it correctly, otherwise I might have damaged the 3DS when I powered it up.

Don't forget to collect ALL OF THE BUTTONS from the old shell! I missed the WIFI slider the first time and had to pull it apart again to install it.

DO NOT FORCE THE SHELL COMPONENTS. If it doesn't come apart, or reassembly, smoothly then you're doing something wrong! Slow down and double check everything is in the right spot.

Make sure you use a guide for the correct model. If what you're seeing in the photos doesn't match what's in front of you, STOP, and look for a different guide.
