Replacing the LCD screen was quite easy

Mi Problema

My wife dropped her phone getting out of the car. It has a reasonably good protective case and glass screen protector and there is no visible damage to the outside of the phone nor the glass. It seems the LCD was damaged internally about halfway down on the left edge resulting in a black semicircle at that spot and verticals gray lines covering the lower half of the screen.

Mi Solución

I bought the replacement screen from Fixit with front camera, microphone, speaker, proximity sensor already fitted as I did not want to try peel off the original microphone - always a chance of tearing the ribbon. I did have to swap over the home button though - getting the cable off took some patience.

Mi Consejo

Just take your time removing the home button assembly - it is very fragile.
