Replacing the iPhone 4S back with a transparent back panel
2 - 5 minutos
The camera lens was very scratched and taking cloudy photos, so I figured why not jazz it up with the transparent panel.
It was remarkably easy. Just unscrew the pentalobe screws, slide the back off, put the new one on, and screw in the new philips head screws. The only thing that was off-putting is that the transparent rear panel is noticeably thicker than the OEM panel, and there is one corner where it didn't seem to fit correctly (the metal band should have a pretty decent bevel all the way around, and in one corner it wasn't quite there, indicative of the panel being not quite the same as the OEM). Although I can't really fault them as manufacturing these things must be pretty intense and achieving Apple's tolerances must be very difficult.
Relax and don't worry, this is the easiest modification you can probably do to your phone.
