Deserted Island, Broken Mac, ifixit, Perfect Timing.

Mi Problema

I live on a tiny island in the Caribbean and go to Ross University School of Medicine. Having a computer is essential but there is no way to get it fixed locally. The hard drive on my macbook took a dive after absorbing some punishment (I have a baby boy and I am a bit clumsy). I bought the hard drive upgrade kit from ifixit.com and hoped for the best. It arrived the very same day class resumed. Perfect timing.

Mi Solución

The repair was a piece of cake. The hard drive took twenty minutes to replace and an hour to restore using time machine. The repair manual was great.

Mi Consejo

I was told to be careful about pulling off and re-attaching the cable to the hard drive. It was no problem for me, however, people have been known to break them.
