Mi Problema

My six and a half year old iMac G5 wouldn't turn on.

Mi Solucion

I'm not much a fixer with regards to computers. I know how to add RAM, but that's about it.

Changing the power supply was not as hard as I thought it would be.

Mi Consejo

In MJ's video I thought the hard and easy parts were the opposite of her view. Unplugging the cable wasn't that hard, but getting the power supply out was. Also, she didn't mention anything about the ambient light cable. Putting the new power supply in was pretty easy.

To her credit, I would never have tried to fix it if I hadn't seen her video. Maybe it's a good idea she made it look a little easier than it was because if it looked really hard I probably never would have tried.

Although I have a newer iMac, it seemed a shame to throw out the G5 if there was any way to fix it. I had called several computer repair stores in Atlanta and they all said don't bother. It's too expensive. I feel pretty proud I was able to do it myself.
