My wife gave me a Kinect for Christmas. After setting up my Xbox 360 for use with the Kinect, I got the RLOD. I didn't get to use the Kinect and I was out of warranty. I purchased the Xbox 360 December of 2007 so its one year out of warranty. Browsing the internet for a solution I decided to purchase the Xbox 360 Red Ring of Death Fix Kit and do the repair.
Mi Solución
The process of fixing the Xbox 360 was smoooth since there is a guide on how to use the kit to repair the Xbox 360. I have extensive experience fixing electronics so my experience was better than what is normal.
Mi Consejo
The tools provided in the kit are a must have to be able to open up the Xbox 360 without damaging the housing. Taking apart the Xbox 360 withouth these tools is a time consuming hassle.
