Nothing exciting, just funny timing

Peter Akey -

Mi Problema

I had a battery issue in my MacBook Pro. I removed the battery using the tri-point and a few hours later, my girlfriend who is attending college 6 hours away informed me that she had a battery issue in her MacBook, too. I decided to ship the screwdriver I had to her so that she could use it at her leisure and order me a new one.

Mi SoluciĆ³n

Since it was a battery issue and since it was Apple, I ended up making an appt with the Genius Bar to get an OEM battery straight from Apple. The only way that I am aware of to get my hands on an OEM battery. When you pay more than $2,000 for a laptop, I don't want an $80 knock-off damaging it. The repair ended uneventfully...after waiting a week for an appt that suited me, they replaced it for $125.

Mi Consejo

Everything went pretty smooth. The Apple store was understanding. I had to remove the battery to get the laptop booted back up so I could take an image of my hard drive. The end-result was mostly, I had to get my data and send my tri-point to my girlfriend...so I bought myself another one. Advice, by two of these if you have more than one MacBook in your circle :)
