Back cover was shattered, and battery was old.

Instructions were very clear, the most difficult part was dealing with the tiny screws. After repairs were made, the iPhone said "searching" for a signal, yet I was still able to make calls and send texts. I opened a chat session with Support, and they walked me through Settings/Network/Reset. After that, I had a signal meter and"ATT". Everything is now perfect!
