The Girlfriend does the laundry... and the iPhone 3gs takes a bath!

How can you get upset when your girlfriend does the laundry and washes the iPhone you left in your pants pocket? Well... this is what happened and my phone was still wet inside after it went through the dryer. I then turned on the phone to see if it worked... haha.. which is what then made it not work. It shorted the battery. I could see water behind the screen. Apple Geniuses told me it was gone! I should not expect it to ever work again... they were wrong... I was persistent and patient.

The repair was beyond easy... I needed to replace the battery. After letting the phone dry out it seemed to be the only thing that needed to be changed. I followed the instructions on the video

The first thing I did after the bath it took was to turn it on, which now I know was the dumbest thing. Its not the water that damages the phone, its the electricity mixed with the water that shorts the electrical parts. I then researched the entire process and really wished I had purchased a thirst bag... but I went with a bag of rice instead and didn't touch the phone for at least 3 weeks. Luckly I had a brother with a spare iPhone to borrow in the meantime... I initially ordered the wrong battery... for the 3G not the 3GS... I fix it gave me a full refund... :) I got the right battery and now it totally works! 100%... as if it never happened!! I bought myself a new iPhone 4s and the girlfriend now owns the old 3GS on my family phone plan. I love that she does the laundry! Oh yeah... I bought a waterproof case for my new phone. hahaha
