The repair process went smooth, but it didn't work and I tried it twice each time following the instructions to a tee.

I've a been computer technician for the past 6 or 7 years. This kind of repair is not new to me. I'm not trying to detract form the ifixit folks' reputation in any way. I'm sure it has worked and will work others but be aware that it may not. The reality is that it's worth giving it a shot to save a little money. Hats off to ifixit in any event, they shipped super fast during the holidays. All the good work that they do is basically free so we can try to save some money. Thank you!
