Mi Problema

DC-in port was defective. The charging connector would get hot and make a soft high pitched electronic "squeal." Eventually the two outer prongs on my chargers would melt down to little nubs to the point where the computer wouldn't even charge anymore. I let the damage get so bad that my DC-in port was actually black and charred.

Mi SoluciĆ³n

Took about 10 minutes. Very easy.

Mi Consejo

Two things:

1. Make sure you have the right magsafe adapter. A 15 inch DC-in board will not fit on the 17 inch. Irresponsible resellers on amazon and other less reputable sites may miss-label their 15 inch DC-in boards as 17 inch.

2. The magsafe adapters are magnetic, which can damage electronics. Be careful. Don't let either of them float around when your motherboard is loose.
