If you want it done right...

depontec -

Mi Problema

The battery on my Slate tablet was in its final throes, so I decided to take to the place of purchase - national chain of office supplies, which hall remain nameless. I hoped they could change the battery there even if I had to wait for them to get one in stock, or they could send it out. I couldn't open it myself because of the tiny screws. Well, the kid looked at it and said they couldn't do anything and if I sent it to HP it would likely cost more to have them service it than it originally cost. I didn't want to give up just like that, so I went back to the internet and after looking at discouraging videos that involved cutting and soldering wires Ifound you guys.

Mi SoluciĆ³n

I ordered the inexpensive tools from you and a battery from another site, followed the tutorial you have posted, and was done in less than 10 minutes. The battery is charging as I write this, but I can see that the job was a success. Between the tools and the batteries I spent less than $60, which is about a third of what the tablet originally cost, so I'm really happy.

Mi Consejo

The experts aren't always expert, so don't give up. This job was a snap, unlike most of my hardware store undertakings, which usually take 100 times longer than I planned and require at least three trips back to the store.
