Salty Water in an iPhone 4

Intermittent key click and crackle on conversations after speaking for 3 minutes.

Mi Solución

Perfect result, now works as new. Easy with the Guides and tools supplied from iFixit. Problem was a crystal salt deposit on the back of the dock connector. Salt is hygroscopic and absorbs moisture from your speech, causing a short across some of the dock pins. Removed with a small stiff paint brush.

Don't get salt water in an iPhone! But if you do, careful cleaning of all the connectors will possibly bring it back to life.
