Mi Problema

I accidentally dropped my iPhone 3GS on the street outside of my house. It cracked the internal LED and I could only partially view the right half of the display. Since I don't want to replace the 3GS with the iPhone 5 just about to come out, repairing it seemed like the best way to go.

Mi SoluciĆ³n

The process wasn't too bad, but I'm really glad there are other people that posted how to do this on youtube. Just search and you'll find them. The pictures did not give me enough information, especially when it came time to put it back together.

Mi Consejo

Ribbon cable 3 has this white band that holds it in. You can see it in the picture. You push it up and off comes the ribbon. However, you may not have actually realized this is how it was held in and what to do when you put it back. To put it back (when you're putting your iPhone back together) push the white band down, slide the ribbon under the black cover and push the white band back up to hold the ribbon in place. It was easy, but stopped me for a few minutes trying to figure it out.
