I had success. But I could see this repair ending up a disaster for folks that are not extremely careful or lack the dexterity (and fortuity) to stuff everything back together without damaging other parts.

I think the iFixit video makes this seem a lot more straight forward that it really is. There are many delicate, difficult to manipulate parts. Even the detailed guide glosses over some of the more important details (be sure to read user comments/tips BEFORE embarking—these are very helpful).

Oh, and how is there no reassembly guide? Yes, I realize that reassembly is technically just the same procedure working backwards. BUT, in practice, it's not quite so simple. Finagling the camera, speaker, and cable connection/contacts was particularly tricky. Getting this all back together was MUCH harder than tearing things apart. And the teardown process degrades the adhesive for cable contacts, so I'm not entirely confident that this repair will be stable.
