Was quoted $500 at Best Buy, fixed it myself for $16 and 2 hours

A few years ago I brought my old macbook in to Best Buy because the screen went black (after a couple months of only working at certain angles.) I was quoted $500 to get it fixed, and it was pretty old at that point so I just bought a new computer instead. Now my little brother is in college and needs a computer, and I figured I could at least give it a shot and try to fix up my old macbook for him.

I could not believe a $16 part was all it needed! The repair itself took about 2 hours to take the computer apart and put back together, but oh man, seeing that screen start glowing when I powered it back on... what a feeling of accomplishment!

It takes 2 hours and there are a lot of screws. Try to keep the screws lined up in order so it's easy when you put everything back together.
