Front camera stuck on shutter after LCD replacement

I dropped my phone and lcd was cracked so I changed the lcd and when I turned it back on, everything else works including rear camera, but when I try to switch it to self-portrait mode, it gets stuck on shutter. I've tried resetting and restoring. but still won't work. Someone said something about jumping(?). Can anyone explain this to me? or should I try to replace the front camera?

Thank you. ^^

Hey Sue,

This has been a common problem amongst iPhone repair enthusiasts! Since the camera does not actually have a physical shutter, this problem is resulting from the phone not being able to access the front camera (also note that this is the front camera, not the rear, that you are having a problem with). The closed shutter view is the phone trying to access the camera.

Chances are, when you replaced the LCD, the front-facing camera was not properly re-inserted. Your best bet is probably to follow this guide to open up the device and make sure the camera and its connector are seated properly.

Give this a try, and check to make sure that everything is in place! It might be beneficial to spray some compressed air into the front facing camera's connector and socket to make sure there is no dust or dirt interfering with the connection.

Good luck! Hope this helps!
