i have 2 99 volvo wagons. same problem on both. the power windows wont go up or down on either of them.
Also, on one, the rear cargo won't open. something got stuck in the latch , and it clicks like its trying to open, but won't release.

maureen, not knowing what model your Wagon is, this is a very generic answer. Since none of your windows is working, check the circuit breaker usually located in the Central electrical unit at the left rear of the engine compartment. Make sure it is functioning. and check the power window relay. As for the latch not working, a model number will help, due to potential differences in mechanisms.

It is also possible that the switch assembly on the driver's side door has gone bad (four window switches and the lock-out button - it is one single assembly). Known malfunction and the only other common place for overall window failure.
