In addition, with aging vehicles (mileage?), the cooling fan(s) may be worn out, contributing to overheating. Ac may not cool for several reasons, especially if cooling fan(s) aren't operating. Check for blown cooling fan fuses.

There are multiple answers to this question.

  1. Make sure the coolant system (lines, radiator, hoses) is in good shape. Check for leaks, make sure its filled up, and have someone flush the system
  2. Make sure all fans are working. Let it get up to temperature and check if the fans turn on. If they don't? Check fuses. If the fuses are fine you may have to replace the radiator fan
  3. About the AC
  4. Check your AC lines. You can buy some refrigerant at an auto store and fill it up. Check for any discoloration on the AC lines. If the AC lines are colored (Usually an odd green) replace your AC lines. Have someone look at the condenser pump. Depending on the age of the car you may need a rebuild/replacement.
  5. This is the end of my knowledge with the current information you have given. More information on the problem would help tremendously.
