My wires that run to the front wheel are severed.

You will have to remove the wheel and open up the motor. Removing the screws holding the two halves can be a pain. I usually use an impact driver as it’s a lot easier. To separate the motor you have to lay it down with the screw holes upward and stand either side of the wheel to push the motor half way out. Then get hold of the shaft and pull. It’s hard as the magnets are trying to pull the rotor back in. Gripping the shaft with pliers makes it a lot easier. Once apart you will see the circuit board with the wires and hall sensors on. Sometimes if you’re lucky the cable might be long enough to reach the board. If so, de solder one wire at a time and solder on the coloured wire you just removed. Do this for every wire until they are all connected then once the wiring is secured the same as when you opened it connect the two halves of the motor and replace the screws. Refit the wheel ensuring the nuts are tight. Then connect the battery, and try it.

If the cable is not long enough you’ll have to find a replacement cable online. Make sure it comes with the correct plug to connect to the controller.
