cant start the moped after been stored.

We have a 1991 suzuki AE50 moped, we removed the battery and had the moped stored for 4years now we charged the battery checked the spark plug but the moped wont start can you help as to the promblem Thank you ...

Solución Elegida

Theres a very good chance the carburettor is full of dried fuel. The metering jets are almost certainly plugged and not allowing any fuel through. If the motor spins and the plug sparks, but comes out bone dry you aren't getting any fuel to the engine. You need to remove the carb, strip it and clean it out, a workshop manual will run you through the procedure, either a Haynes or Clymer manual will do.

Its a pretty common thing to happen to bikes/scooters after a long layup.

There is a vacuum type valve that the gasoline from the tank connects to and from there too the carb it also has a vent tube and a vacuum tube . This tends to stick it can be exersised by the vacuum line but is not that expensive just hard to get to. If you want to sell I need a front end for mine (i_byer2@hotmail.com)
