My PC hard disk drive won't read even though it was OK a few years ago. I need to extract information. I have a working drive similar to it. How can I swap the reading mechanism like heads and everything besides the disks

Hi!
Most likely the HDD is bad and thus you can't get any data from it.
Swapping the internals of an HDD is not an option. All of this needs to be done in a clean room, a room without a single particle of dust in the air, this is almost impossibly to achieve, except if you have a place dedicated to do such thing.
So, when you really need the data, you need to sent/bring it to a company which is dedicated on repairing harddisks.

You do not need a state of the art HD repair station or company you just need hardware knowledge to repair a faulty hard drive, start by taking a professional training videos and you'll be on your way
