My device was working fine one day and then the next day it wouldn't connect to my pc's, the light doesn't come on and doesn't spin up. I've tried it on every usb port on my laptop and my new desktop, also tried new cables with no luck. I managed to get the shell open but still have no idea how to proceed to fix it. There is a big dent on the lid which means the problem is likely physical in nature.
DO NOT fix a hard drive, there is NOTHING you can do, all you will achieve by proceeding is destroying any chances of recovering the data. Send it to a data recovery lab if you need the data, otherwise just toss it.

It was from opening it i believe and it stopped working quite awhile ago, the port stopped working.
