My phone can't charge charge but my type c earphones work

@sabelonkosi this sounds like you are saying that your USB-C port still works but your phone does not charge. There are a few possibilities. First it could be a bad battery. Next it could be caused by a bad flex cable from the daughter board to the main board. Last it could be a bad daughter board (sub board or charging board). The last and worst option is a bad PMIC (power management IC) on the main board. That will require schematics, board views and the ability and tools to perform board repairs.

Time to open up your phone and to see what's going on. Since iFixit does not yet have a specific guide for that, use something like this video to work on your phone] Once open check the flex cable for any tears, rips or corrosion. Check the connectors as well.

Next would be to replace the battery and/or the charging board. I prefer to change both of those at the same time as to avoid having to open up the phone multiple times. Both are readily available at many places. Let us know what you find out.

While you work on your phone, take lots of pictures. Once you are done with it, take those pictures and create a guide for iFixit.
