Any way to repair scratches in the screen?

I have a single scratch on my screen about 1.5" long. I'm not looking for a polish to "remove" the scratch as that's simply not possible. However I've seen product in the past that was nothing more than a liquid that you would put on scratches (for example, eye glasses) that would fill the scratch and make it so it's doesn't refract light anymore thus...bye bye scratch, for the most part.

It's been a long time since I've used any such product or have worn eye glasses for that matter. However, has anyone used those product on something like the iPad?

1 Purchase display polish. You can purchase this product from several online retailers and from many brick-and-mortar cellular phone stores. iDrops, Displex Display Polish and AstroShine Clean Kit are three types of display polishes you can use to remove scratches from your iPad.

2 Open the display polish and squeeze a small amount of the polish onto your iPad. Consult the instructions that came with your display polish to determine the recommended amount of product to use for a single application. Typically, you will use a few drops.

3 Polish the scratched area for two to three minutes. Apply heavy pressure using the clean, soft cloth.

4 Repeat as necessary to remove deep scratches.

NOTE

If you find the scratch is too deep to remove with a liquid fill solution, you may have to replace it.

You can find those directions at this link :)

For future reference I would suggest buying a screen protrector to better help your iPad from becoming scratched again. If you need further assistance please just ask.

I suggest caution: all these products contain abrasives that remove the special finish that helps prevent finger prints. You may only do more damage to the display surface.

It really depends on the type of material the touch screen is composed of (Glass, Acrylic, Gorilla Glass). I would suggest using a buffing agent that is specific to your type of device screen as to not damage it any further. These guys have it broken down by screen type so you might look into what they have or something similar from another manufacturer.

Hope this helps.
