Is this okay for use on motherboard??
Also can it damage the plastic or foam pieces if accidentally spilled?
I am new to repairing stuff like this so help will be appreciated

Hi!
Yes, the product in the link is perfect to use! Be aware, that traces could be damaged and other components could be broken by the acid.
First, de-solder the battery pins on the motherboard and clean it completely. Then check for damage (if you can share pictures with us, that would be great).
Replace broken components and repair traces if needed, then solder some new battery pins in. Also make sure to replace the battery pins inside the shell. Then test if it's working again or not.
This is the only way to completely fix the Wii Remote :)!
