Is the phone network locked or unlocked?

If it is unlocked try using a different, known working, nano SIM card in the phone and check if that work OK

If it is locked to a particular service provider, try using a different, known working, same network provider's nano SIM card in the phone and check if that works OK.

Has the phone been dropped or gotten wet at all?

If it has gotten wet, check the status of the liquid damage indicator to see if it has changed colour indicating whether water has penetrated the phone or not. If it has then the phone will need to be opened, inspected and cleaned to hopefully get it to work properly again
