My iPod screen is scratched.

Ok my iPod touch (2nd generation) is scratched. I have watched videos on how to repair the screen. But I have no idea how to repair the screen. Could you please help me repair the screen. Or give me some tips and tell me what to do. And could you tell me where to buy the repair parts. I really need your help.

Here is the part you need to replace the front glass/touch screen, you can purchase it in ifixit.com's parts store.

the repair guide can be found here, you can study the guide beforehand to see if it's something you're comfortable doing yourself.

so question-- does iFixit do repairs if you don't want to fix it yourself? just curious

iFixit does not do repairs. But a Google search will reveal many places that do!

2nd generation?!

Hard to open, you'd better keep your scratched screen, scratches are normal and it's better scratched than dusty under the glass (it's hard to change the front glass)

Don' do it, sorry for iFixit guys, but opening an iPod 2nd gen is very hard, in most cases it could break or damage the screen (veeery fragile!).

Keep the screen scratched, unless you are experienced in changing iPod parts.

Yes, agreed. Taking Apple products apart for repair can be risky if you do not know what you are doing. Probably even more so these days with newer Apple products. If the scratches aren't too deep, you can easily buff them out and improve the look of your screen.

There are a bunch of junk polishing compounds out there that I have seen many people talk about online but this one worked wonders for me on both my iPod as well as my HTC Evo 4G screens. You might look into it...

I hope this is helpful for you in the late future as well as anyone else swinging by this post in the future.
