Broken opening/ closing mechanism
The plastic thing between the screen and the body broke on both sides. I haven't seen any replacement part for this.
Pls advice.

Apple is not replacing if hinges are broken . i have also this broken hinges. they have requirements if your macbook air is older than 3 years then you cannot get the exception case to change the display clamshell for free of cost.
He didn't say the hinges were broken. Also your ASP in India doesn't seem to work like the Apple stores in the USA.
