Does the touch panel separate from the display?

EDIT: Does the touch panel actually separate cleanly from the display itself?

You say it's not fused to the front panel. I hope that means that the capacitive touch assembly comes easily off of the display. I would like to replace the IPS display with a Pixel Qi one of equivalent size and resolution, and use the IPS as an external display for a laptop. Would it be possible to do this? The Pixel Qi should use the same wiring to mate the display to the driver.

Basically, with an ideal display replacement candidate (such as the Pixel Qi) would replacement be simple? This would happen on a rooted, unrestrained Nook Tablet. Would it require delicate removal of the touch panel, or was the disassembly article hinting at ease when it comes to replacing the screen?
