My MacBook Pro doesn't have a light, how can I check it?

My 2018 MacBook Pro doesn't have a charger with a light. So how can i check the charger? Have 2 other old MBPs plugged into the same source and their charger lights are on and are charging. My 2018 MBP was fine until one morning the screen went black and turned off. This has happened when accidentally unplugged but wasn't unplugged this time. For a while the flashing icon and a low percentage number flashed but now that's gone too, Tried switching plugs and plug direction. Only have one charger for the 2018. Getting another charger before buying a battery.

What i said was that my 2018 Macbook Pro CHARGER does not have a light. Meaning i was questioning the person who said the green light on their 2018 Macbook Pro charger was lit. My charger is NOT a magsafe with a magnet or a light. So i'm wondering if all 2018 MBPs have MY charger which plugs into the port or do some have magsafe chargers? If all 2018 MBPs have chargers that plug into the port, then what green light is that person refering to?

@perpetual - You will need a USB-C power meter which you place inline with your charger if the system is unable to boot up. If you can get it going use CoconetBattery post a snapshot of the Apps main window so we can see what’s happening or the USB-C Power Meter ideally a short vid if the values fluctuate a couple of volts.

Apple in there wisdom when they jumped to USB-C connections took away the on system power indicator which was part of the MagSafe interface. This LED was very useful as you knew without having to look at the systems display if the system was getting power and the current state of charge. While Apple did have a LED on there power chargers it didn’t help you know if the connection was working as many USB-C cables where not fully wired or didn’t offer the correct gaged wires for power delivery, and some third party USB-C chargers don’t even offer even that.

It took a lot of complaints to moved Apple back to MagSafe which we now have. Here and within the older the Amber and Green LED offers a useful and simple way to see what’s going on.
