Why does my Left joycon thinks it's a right?

So a few days ago I was trying to play my Nintendo switch but the left joycon wouldn't work while attached to the switch. So I detach it to play, but when I did that my left joycon showed up as a right joycon. I was really confused so I tried disconnecting and paired them to the switch but it keeps doing the same thing.

If I try to slide it in on the left side it won't don't anything, but when slide into the right side it does all the effect it should, can some help?

Of course! I'd be glad to assist you with the issue you're experiencing with your Nintendo Switch Joy-Con. Here are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot the problem:

1. Calibration: Begin by calibrating the Joy-Con controllers. On your Nintendo Switch, go to System Settings, then select Controllers and Sensors, and choose Calibrate Control Sticks. Follow the on-screen instructions to calibrate the Joy-Con analog sticks. This process can help rectify any misalignment or calibration issues that might be causing the problem.

2. Software Update: Ensure that your Nintendo Switch is running the latest system software. Updates often include bug fixes and improvements that can address controller-related issues. Connect your Switch to the internet, go to System Settings, select System, and choose System Update to check for any available updates and install them if necessary.

3. Joy-Con Reset: Try performing a reset of the affected Joy-Con. Hold down the Sync button on the Joy-Con for a few seconds until the lights start flashing. Then, on your Switch, go to System Settings, select Controllers and Sensors, and choose Change Grip/Order. Follow the on-screen instructions to re-sync the Joy-Con.

4. Check for Interference: Ensure that there are no sources of interference near your Nintendo Switch. Other wireless devices or metal objects can interfere with the Joy-Con's signals and cause connectivity issues. Move any potential sources of interference away from the console and try again.

5. Contact Nintendo Support: If the above steps do not resolve the problem, it's recommended to reach out to Nintendo Support for further assistance. They have dedicated support channels and may provide specific troubleshooting steps or advise you on potential repairs or replacements if needed.

I hope these steps help you resolve the issue with your left Joy-Con. Enjoy your gaming experience!
