to day i turned on my new lglv5400, and now the picture is cut off all around the edges.no matter what setting large or small it is the same.it's like the picture is too big for the size of the screen.

I have this TV..... I love it. Not exactly sure of the problem based on the question.
You might want to check the cable box or what ever input your using make sure it's 1080i or 720p output which ever is supported....... i assume your using HDMI cables, before my HDMI cables arrived the analog inputs make me a little nuts..... or at the least not happy with the picture.
once that is squared away check the aspect ratio in the setting for the TV. You might have Zoom mode on......
Just what i could think of off the top of my head.
I don't have a firm grasp on your problem so this is the best advice i can offer. If you provide more detailed info i might be of more help.
