My camera keeps saying that Internal Memory is full

I bought this from Fingerhut just a few months ago and have been very happy with it but the last few times that I have tried to use it I get a message that the Internal Memory is full and I have no idea what that means or how to fix it. Can you please help?

The front of the camera says Kodak AF 5X Optical Aspheric Lens 14 Mega Pixels and it came with the case too.

any sd card I put in says the same thing internal memory full

- de

I get this error with 64GB card but works fine with 32GB card.

- de

Try going to your setup icon, scroll down until you see the image storage. Set from internal memory to auto. that should help

- de

To orcshamen - error with 64GB but not with 32GB memory card.

You can check what memory cards are compatible with your camera.

Go to MEMORYCOW the memory card supplier how provide the facility to check which memory cards are compatible with any camera.

Debbie Durham, I just checked the manual for your camera available here, and this is what it says" Memory card and internal memory full.

■ Transfer pictures to the computer (see page 37).

■ Delete pictures/videos (see page 14), or insert a new card"

You did not tell us if you are using a CF card to add room for more pictures. You can purchase an SD card to store more pictures and videos. You can copy pictures/videos from a card to internal memory or from internal memory to a card. Before you copy, make sure that:

■ A card is inserted in the camera.

■ The camera’s image storage location is set to the location from which you are copying.

Copy pictures/videos:

1 Press the Review button, then the Menu button.

2 Press to highlight Copy, then press OK.

3 Press to highlight an option.

4 Press OK.

NOTE: Pictures/videos are copied, not moved. To remove pictures/videos from the original location after copying, delete them. Hope this helps, good luck

Most of Kodak's cameras have a little internal storage, in addition to a flash card reader; some other companies do this as well. If you start up the camera without a card inserted (or if you fill up the card), it will switch over to the internal storage, so you don't lose any shots if you aren't paying attention. But there is no free lunch: The internal storage is much smaller than a flash card, and you'll fill it with a few shots. Just as with the flash card, you have to either delete the photos individually or format the entire storage unit in order to clear out the space.

- de

There are two storage settings: 1) Auto, which saves to the flash card first and flips over to the internal when the card is full; 2) Internal, which saves to internal storage whether there's a card inserted or not. Don't set your camera to Internal - ever.

- de

THIS is the answer I needed re: storage settings. I wanted to access the memory CARD to delete some pictures but could not because I was on the "Internal" setting. The advice "Don't set your camera to internal--ever" is what I needed. Thank you

I had the same and i solved the riddle, go into the menu and find a link that says re format, once you do that it will all return back to normal with full memory

It seems to get corrupted every now and then with a bogus file

Update

hi Debbie

If that did not work then plug it into your pc, switch on the power, open my computer, double click the camera icon, then you will see the fixed storage bar, right click and then format, it will clear it all and your camera will be fully restored,.

Good Luck, Kaicy

I have this problem as well stating that the internal memory is full. i was able to go on line to help me fix this problem, and the few steps helped, and now it came back before i was able to take 5 shots and the internal memory came back up, i truly belive that their is a problem with these camers, and to say this my card has only 10 photoes on it & it states the same thing, take out the card it states it full and the card is not in, will like some help. It seams like Kodak needs to replace these camers with something cloose to make with these great features that this Kodak EasyShare C813 has to offer.

Debbie,

I have a problem with my camera. I keeps saying the memory stick needs to be reformatted. I have done this several times and the components seem not to be able to read the memory stick. I have used several different ones with the same problem. This is just the opposite of yours. Any ideas?

The size of the SDHC memory card is a factor! I get the same error with 64GB card but my 32MB card does not get this error. I format the 64GB one to no avail.

My SanDisk Ultra 32GB~40mb/s DOES WORK. The only other info about this camera's card (size) compatibility I have seen is 8 GB on an Amazon listing. http://www.amazon.com/Kodak-Easyshare-Di...

And 16GB (with a recommend of 2GB) from the manufacturer http://www.cnet.com/forums/discussions/m...
