Why don't my wired headphones work?

Okay so my wired headphones work on everything, my phone my CD player my two brothers exact same tablets to mine but my headphones don't work on my tablet?! Now the sensible answer would be that my tablets jack just doesn't work but... No! Every other wired headphones I've tried have worked on my tablet just not this pair. The headphones I'm using are a cheap £15 pair of iclever hs18's.
