Fingerprint sensor not working with a screen protector

I have an issue with my fingerprint sensor that functions fine AFTER a screen replacement BUT NOT with a tempered glass screen. This was not an issue previously with the original screen. I don't understand how this could happen because the fingerprint sensor works without a protector, and this only started after the replacement. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated for the help.

Hi Don,

I've got the 6 Pro and when I first got it the fingerprint sensor didn't work worth a darn with my screen protector. It continued working marginally until two things happened. First, I replaced the screen protector as I'd gotten a crack in it, and second, I deleted my fingerprints and redid the fingerprint entries.

Since then I haven't had any trouble; fingerprints are easily recognized and working fine.

Hey, actually I have used two different brands of screen protectors from Amazon and redid my fingerprints so many times and still having this issue, it makes no sense at all.

@dondonger I don't know if it'll help, but here's the one I got for my phone that seems to work well. It actually has a clear spot over the fingerprint sensor that's got a markedly different appearance than the rest of the screen protector.

@dadibrokeit thank you jerry, I will purchase this and test it out!

@dondonger Sounds good; I'll be curious to find out if it works for you. By the way, have you run the fingerprint sensor calibration? I haven't done one myself, but I'd think that could have an effect.

@dadibrokeit I have done it yes, this was an issue before and you would go and click increase sensitivity on the display settings and it would start functioning, but it seems with the newest update the name of that setting was changed and doesn't really make a difference at all when clicking it. Also I notice at times it just works, really well then stop working soon after. I believe it is some kind of software bug.
