2019 13" Pro reboots after 5 minutes of sitting idle

Hey All!

Got a 13" 2019 i7 that reboots after sitting idle for about 5 minutes. It does not fall asleep -- it just goes black and then reboots. It has a fresh install of Ventura. It rebooted when sitting at the "choose your language" screen, and then it also rebooted once logged into the OS. Tried resets, re-seated lower case.

It does not feel hot, and the reboot only happens when it sits idle -- when the laptop is used, it's fine. Feels like a sensor issue, or like something is interrupting sleep?

Additionally, it only does this on battery power, in case that is a hint.

Have you checked the settings for how long it will set idle before it reboots? This option should be in power settings or power plans.

Fresh install of Ventura though -- it wouldn't have any strange settings by default, right? And no OS automatically reboots when sitting idle as a standard setting?

I agree. It sounds more like it is some sort of battery issue. Maybe a temp sensor in the battery its self is going bad. If it was the computer or any of its inner components or programming it would do it while plugged in also.

What does CoconutBattery tell you?

Also do you have any crash reports in the system log?

Did you first wipe the drive fully

I’m suspecting a Virus/Trojan has infected the system. Otherwise there is an issue with the RAM as the the Panic Call doesn’t point to a given app.
