How to fix broken black clip connecting the SL and SR flex cable?

I tried replacing the SL and SR flex cable on the right joy con but have broke the black clips that holds down the cables. How do I repair that or do I have to change the whole board?

If you have broken the black clips that hold down the SL and SR flex cables on your right Joy-Con, it can be difficult to repair them. In most cases, you may need to replace the entire board. However, if you are skilled with microsoldering and have access to the right tools, you may be able to repair the broken clips.

Here are some steps that you can follow to repair the broken black clips:

  1. First, remove the damaged flex cable from the board, and clean the area where the clips were located using a soldering iron and flux.
  2. Then, carefully examine the board and the broken clips to determine the extent of the damage. If the clips are only partially broken, you may be able to reattach them using a small amount of solder.
  3. If the clips are completely broken, you may need to source replacement clips from a spare Joy-Con board or from an online retailer. You will need to desolder the old clips and solder the new ones in place using a microsoldering iron.
  4. Once the new clips are in place, reattach the SL and SR flex cables to the board and test the Joy-Con to make sure it is working properly.

If you are not comfortable with microsoldering or do not have access to the necessary tools, it may be best to replace the entire board rather than attempting to repair the broken clips.
