Why do I keep losing HDMI signal?

Currently running an Asus zephyrus m16 laptop with an unusable screen, by bypassing it with HDMI out, but the problem is it works fine until I install windows 11, I get about 5 minutes, the laptop beeps once and hdmi cuts out never to return again, Ive reinstalled windows 11, 3 times still with the same outcome, I've tried force switching display via key commands, and disabling sleep mode, but nothing. I suspect it's kicking back to the "default" display, but no concrete proof, since I can't see anything on the lcd.
