No accepting discs at all?

So the device turns on perfectly fine and everything else works fine no connection errors or anything but the disc drive doesn't work at, THE DISC DRIVE DOES NOT ACCEPT DISC NOR DOES IT TRY TO. I've opened it up and made sure everything was connected, prior to it not working I had not used it for about 2 or 3 months and the drive worked fine then. I left a disc in the drive during that time and I'm not sure if that could have done anything. I've cleaned it a million times and it still doesn't want to accept discs, the drive doesn't try to accept discs AT ALL. like the motor doesn't even start, and I've checked the motor, and that works fine. Does anyone have any clue whats going on here, I've been trying to fix this for a good 2 months now and haven't been able to see anything.
