Why isn't my brake lights working

I check all the fuses, and when i turn my lights on they come on but when i step on the brakes the lamps don't get brighter, also when i step on the brake it does not make that click sound for my shifter to work so i have been using the shift lock release button

khalif, you should combine both of your questions. It looks like they have a common fault.

I replaced switch, didn't help. I have a manual, it also controls is the cruise but that works fine

man let me answer u r question as happen with me .

my car is honda crv 2001 and my horn dosnet work and shift and lights too dosnet work and when i changed fuse i think it was number 15 may be not sure .

khalif, same answer as on How to repair my shifter "khalif, I think you should combine the two of the questions you are asking. I think there might just be a common connection. I would start with replacing the brake light switch. As you mentioned in your other question, your brake lights do not come on when depressed. If your brake light switch is malfunctioning, your brake lights will not work,nor will your gear shift locking mechanism. Check the wiring on the switch, makes sure it is adjusted right, and you can check it with a multimeter.Replace the switch, re-evaluate and let us know. Hope this helps, good luck."
