My Keyboard Beeps after cleaning?

I recently cleaned my keys since i had liquid spill, the computer worked so i cleaned the keys by popping them out individually and cleaning with alcohol wipes and once I got all the keys back together I took everything out of the front case (logic board, HDD, optical drive) and lifted the black covering up on the keyboard (because I thought soda leaked through) but did not lift where the backlighting cable entered. Since I did not know if the black cover held by adhesive (it was sticky I didn't know if the was the liquid damage a soda caused or not) I put the black covering back down and put everything back in. I turned the computer on and the backlighting worked but the keys dont exactly work, once you press a key the computer beeps and won't type the letter, I don't know what's going on since it all got cleaned.

If I need a new front case, then I will just get a keyboard w/backlighting off eBay for $50, and take the 50+ screws out of the keyboard attaching it to the front case, also how do I wire up the new keyboard and backlighting? Any help with replacing the actual keyboard would very appreciated.

Likely you have 1 or more stuck keys. try multi tapping all keys in turn and see if you can isolate which key is the culprit.

Its a membrane keyboard - not really resilient to liquid spills. Id give another go at cleaning it up. take KB out again and take all the key caps off and give it a good wash - if it were me I'd buy some distilled water and warm it slightly in the microwave in a clean plastic container - wash the KB down, rinse off with alcohol to remove the water then dry in a low oven (45-50C) for 1-2 hours. Cant hurt and may work

Worst case you have to replace it anyway.

THIS PART is what you need, however it has been claimed that you can take the KB off the top cover - check out this thread esp SIMRAM's answer
