display quit, and replacement doesn't work either
My display started getting a green cast, then died within a day. I sent off for a replacement, and once I got it installed, I found that it still didn't work. I'm able to hook up an external display and it shows that the computer is working just fine. Should I assume the replacement display is bad? I am reluctant to ask my wife to let me take apart her old MacBook Pro to try hooking up a different display
It's a mid 2012 unibody

Hi
Are there any burn marks or corrosion on the screen connector?

No burn marks, but there could be corrosion. What's the best way to clean it?

The repair I did before the display went bad was to replace the MagSafe input. It worked fine for a few months before the display problem arose, but of course the repair involved unplugging the display cable.
I don't recall any difficulty with installing the cable, but could have done something inadvertently. I assume all the other components you mention are part of the logic board? I that my next project?
