Unless you are very good at micro soldering, replacing the usb c port may be challenging to average diyers. Salt water conducts electricity and corrodes metals used in phones. Did you remove the back cover and examine electronics for water intrusion? Corrosion can begin almost immediately and the battery should be disconnected to prevent salt water from short circuiting delicate connections that may render some/most/all circuits inoperable. Once the battery is removed, alcohol swabbed everywhere salt water came into contact can dilute and halt corrosion. Dry off wetted parts with either canned air in combination with an absorbent to draw fluids away from circuits and parts. Leaving the opened phone in a warm area (oven with gas pilot light, stove with pilot light, on top of a boiler or out in the sun) to allow the warmed phone to evaporate water from crevices should help. Try to remove as much of any salted water from every part of the affected phone to halt future corrosion.

@notbroken you can replace the whole charging board in this model so soldering isnt even required

@tech_ni, that's great info if salt water hasn't damaged other parts of this phone.
