Upgrading 2013s A1465 into maximum 2015s A1465 i7/8Gb

Hello there guys! Just bought from local analog of craigslist in my country - 2013s MB Air 11" A1465 for about 290$ (fully working laptop)

And i want to upgrade it for a maximum iteration of small 11" MB Air - 2015s A1465 with i7 and 8Gb RAM

Every part, except logic board itself (magsafe board, ssd, airport, screen, battery, touchpad, keyboard) are swappable (at least they're all marked "mid 2013-early 2015" even on iFixit). And logic boards 2013-2014-2015 - all having places for screws in same places. (they are ABSOLUTELY same on photos)

So, there's a question:) Can i actually swap logic board into newer and much powerfull one if, in theory, everything will fit? Does anyone ever did this before?

(290$ Air 2013 + 300$ for 2015s i7/8gb logic board OR fully working this rare modification of MB Air 11 2015 starting from 870-940$ on my local analog of craigslist, i think it's good way to save some money:) )

What do you think? 900-1000$ isn't that too much for a 7 years old laptop?)

While the logic board will work, I don't think it's worth the costs and the limitations even the upgraded system has.

Todays systems really need a minimum of 8GB for simple web browsing and writing. 16GB is needed with photo/video/music work as well as running multiple windows open concurrently. In addtion 256/512GB is now the base for SSD storage.

Whats important to also understand is within the newer M series systems unified memory is more efficient so 8GB goes further. For $1000 you get a lot more and it also runs current and newer macOS's a lot longer than your 2015 based MacBook Air. As you can see here How to upgrade to macOS Monterey The 2015 MacBook Air systems are on the bottom edge. It's likely it will be dropped in the next macOS release or the followup.

I would stick with what it has and stick with the highest it can support for macOS, saving up for a newer M Series system.
