Network keeps dropping but phone is supposedly unlocked

Hi, I bought an AT&T unlocked V60 and have been using it here in the Philippines for 42 days without any problems but today it refuses to connect properly to my carrier network (SMART Cellular). I've made a Reddit post with recordings about it. I would really greatly appreciate any help resolving this issue.

Things I've tried:

  • factory reset twice
  • switched to 3 different sim cards
  • tried to add new apn (but it isn't saving) Note: I booted into safe mode and added an apn and i got the phone to recognize the carrier, got my brother to successfully call the phone for about 2 mins until i restarted back into normal mode and had the problem again.

Unable to post links here so this is a shortned url: shorturl.at/cgzM2

Note: 2g/3g/4g/4g+ was working fine before today. there seems to be nothing going on with the carrier since my brother isnt having any issues with his phone (ROG 2- same carrier)

SMART Cellular may have 5 APNs for LG V60 ThinQs in the Philippines. Click the link below to view the list:

Do any of these APNs work?

Hi @dancomptia , so yes these do work but they dont hold for longer than 1 second as seen in the other recordings I added on the Reddit post. I did some digging yesterday and have observed that something seems to be interfering with the Cellular Radio keeping it from always staying on. So I downloaded an app from F-Droid called Tower Collector and this has somewhat fixed the issue, albeit just a band-aid solution at the cost of battery performance.

Do you think this could be a hardware issue ? Or software ? Coz I want to get to get this properly resolved and not rely on band-aid solutions. Also, do you know of any app like Tower Collector that forces the Cell Radio to "always awake" but lightweight? Thanks for answering to my post by the way.

Edit: I've added a log of my network test below. Note that around 7AM~ish was when I started the monitor logger without turning on Tower Collector.

Tower Collector seems to detect towers, but I would be skeptical about any third-party app that claims to restore phone connectivity.

If your cell radio can't stay awake, try a factory reset. If it still doesn't work, it may be hardware-related.

If all else fails, I would call the carrier so they can troubleshoot from their end.
