Won't boot after changing sound board.

Hi,

so I changed the broken sound board on a firewire pismo. Trying to boot seems to start the SB (quiet hissing noise, normal?) and illuminate the display (no graphics though, a "brighter shade of black"). Sometimes the display remains completely dead. No fan activity, no LED. HD makes repeating nasty clicking noise.

Tried unplugging PRAM battery and PMU reset and made sure the processor board snapped in properly, to no avail. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

It did for some time, with a little power jack wiggling. Then the power jack completely broke off, and since the main battery had been useless anyway it couldn't boot. I wonder if I connected something in a wrong way. Aren't the connections foolproof?

Problem solved. Changing the power supply board did the trick.
