Backlight won't work. My question: Which Fuse do I need to bridge?

Hello, my question is in the title.

The PSP (Mod. 200x) is operating completely normal. It was unused for many years now and when I turned it on the display was apparently not functioning. After I shone some light on it while on I could clearly see that the problem was not with the display but with the Backlight. I’ve read that many people just bridged it with soldering metal and it worked just fine so I want to bridge the fuse too but in order to do this I need to know which fuse exactly I need to bridge.

I will add some pictures of the Mainboard. What I’ve done: I disassembled the whole console, cleaned most contacts with Isopropyl Alcohol.

It’s confusing because I have seen many videos but most of them are with the 100x, 300x models or the PSP Go. And the sources I found on the 200x model (which I have) always mean different fuses to be bridged/fixed.

@fkcrew Hi, unfortunately not. I did not find the specific part but I guess I'll order a broken psp2000 and harvest the needed fuse. I'll let you know as far as I have an update

@spicylemon I would not suggest to bridge the fuse. That will only destroy the rest of your circuit if anything goes wrong. Just replace it.
It’s just as much work to solder a component than a jumper wire. the backlight fuse is F4101 which looks like somebody already removed on your board. Go ahead, REPLACE it.

Hey, thank you for your advice. I really never violated the Mainboard so that’s quite surprising that there is a fuse missing. I’ll solder it and let you know if it helped.

I wonder how that fuse could possibly get off from the Mainboard if you have any speculation why that might happened then let me know.

@spicylemon if its your PSP and has never been "opened" it is possible that this fuse just popped of due to bad soldering. It does happen.

Hey Guys,

This fuse is also missing on my PSP 2000 it also is not droppt in the case or smt, i will bridge it and we will see if it works i let you know.

Update.

Same backlight problem as bevor. i dont think there is no need for a fuse in the f4101 place. i measured it out and the soldering is right but nothing happend.

Da wo F4101 steht ist nicht immer eine Sicherung. Manche 2000er haben dort eine, manche nicht.

Hallo. Ich habe PSPs mit dem gleichen Problem gehabt. Auf dem ersten Bild die untere Sicherung ist die für das Backlight. Die obere wäre für Ton.

Meine PSP konnte ich mit der 0.5 A Bauart 0603 nicht retten, da es dort am Prozessor selbst lag. Ich hatte ebenfalls Bild unter gutem Licht, habe die Sicherung neu eingelötet und das Bild war wieder da. Dabei habe ich aber gemerkt, daß der Bildschirm auf der linken Seite sehr warm wurde und musste feststellen, dass der Prozessor in dem Metallkäfig hinter dem Display heisst wurde.

Es gibt deswegen auch kaum Videos oder Anleitungen weil es meist irreparabel ist mit einfachen Lötarbeiten. Probieren kann man es aber auf jeden Fall. So viel kostet so eine Sicherung nicht.

Hoffe ich konnte verspätet helfen.

Was mir bei meinem Reparaturversuch auch aufgefallen ist, war das der Akku auf einmal sehr schnell leer war. Keine 5 Minuten und die PSP 2000 hat wegen leerem Akku abgeschaltet. Das muss man beobachten nach einem Wechsel der Sicherungen.
