Why is my dishwasher not cleaning and making a grinding noise?

Whirlpool WDT30PAYW3 is not running through its cycle. the drain pump is working. It appears to be getting warm water (i can see it and feel it in the hose). i cleaned everything i could. the float is freely moving. The door latch seems secure and holding it in further does nothing. i even did the 123 123 123 button cycle thing. The only issue i can audibly see and/or hear is that the back motor/pump (possibly called circulation pump?) is grinding and maybe not forcing the water through? it just kinda makes noise and i dont actually hear the water inside sloshing around like it should.

Hi,

Please verify the model number of the dishwasher as the model number that you posted shows no results?

Is it WDF730PAYW3 or WDF530PAYW3 by any chance as these are the closest that I could find? The only WDT model numbers are WDT77PAYW3 or WDT710PAYW3.

Are the spray arms moving?

Place both of the spray arms in a remembered position and then start the dishwasher. Allow it to fill and then start to wash for a minute. Open the door to pause the cycle and check if the arms have moved from the position that you left them in.

If not then the circulation pump is not working. The pressure of the water being pumped through the spray arms causes them to rotate.
