I love my Apple SE watch but recently developed some heart issues and the ECG feature would be a nice addition on my watch. Do I have to buy a different watch to get this feature?

To get the ECG feature, you will need to buy a Series 4, 5, or 6 Apple Watch.
Taking an ECG with the ECG app on Apple Watch Series 4, Series 5, or Series 6

Thank you, not what I wanted to hear but my heart issues are not severe enough to buy a new Apple watch at this time. Had I known this was going to be an issue last Dec, 2020 I would have purchased a version that was compatible with the ECG app. Thanks for you answer.

Sorry no way to upgrade your SE to add in ECG, you'll need to trade it in for a Series 4 or newer.
